![]() Women are often viewed as communicating aggressively when they are merely striving to be assertive. This simple formula acts as a good reminder for how to get your message across. Say What You Mean Don't fluff. Have you ever walked away from a meeting and wondered what it was all about? One woman shared how she'd phone her mother, only to hear her mother say "Hello stranger." ![]() As women over 60, I believe we are the Elders of Our Time. An Elder can be defined as a Leader or influential senior figure in a tribe or other group; one worthy of dignity and respect. But is this how we see ourselves? Do we see ourselves as a burden or a benefit to society? Yes, it’s true others may see us as a burden, well past our use-by-date. If we accept that judgement, then it will be so. When we value our contribution to our families, to society and the global community then we step into the reason for our being. Right here, right now. “The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes, but in having new eyes.” ~Marcel Proust |
